Ever pasted something into your document and got a random font, a blue link and a stray image? ClipStrip makes that stop.
It is a tiny Mac app that quietly watches your clipboard. Copy from anywhere, and whatever you paste is plain text: no fonts, colors, links or images. No special paste shortcut, no extra step.
why i built it
I make a spreadsheet for every decision, big or small. Copying from websites dragged their formatting along, and my sheets turned into a mess:
Documents suffer even more. My Arkansas trip notes ended up with a different style on every paragraph:
Fixing that is a distraction, and so is seeing it: your brain grabs any excuse to look away from the work.
what you get
- Zero effort. It runs in the background, nothing to remember.
- Works everywhere. Word, Pages, OneNote, Google Docs, Notes, you name it.
- Stays out of your way. Only text is cleaned; everything else is untouched.
- Free.
try it
It is not on the Mac App Store yet, so macOS will ask you to allow an app from an unidentified developer. I want to see if there is interest before going through that process.
